Use of OtomaxВ® has been associated with partial hearing loss in a small number of geriatric dogs.The combination of clotrimazole, gentamicin and betamethasone found in OtomaxВ® is generally safe for use in dogs.Clotrimazole should not be used in animals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to the drug.While generally safe and effective when prescribed by a veterinarian, clotrimazole can cause side effects in some animals.On rare occasions fungus or yeast will develop resistance to clotrimazole.
